Phonics
We use SoundsWrite to teach early reading and phonics, teaching explicitly the essential phonemic awareness skills, conceptual knowledge, and code knowledge needed for children to learn to read and spell.
Handwriting
We use Nelson Handwriting throughout school to help children develop a confident and legible writing style.
Reading Comprehension & Writing
We teach every reading comprehension and writing through literature that inspires. We focus on diverse stories and important themes, and immersive classroom experiences. Please see long term plan below:
